    Frinton-on-Sea is a seaside town and a former civil parish, now in the parish of Frinton and Walton, in the Tendring district of Essex. The place-name ‘Frinton’ is first attested in the Domesday Book of 1086, where it appears as Frientuna. The name may mean ‘fenced-in or enclosed town or settlement’.
